Damien Correll

Damien Correll is not some too-cool-for-school graphic designer. He will happily take on commissions from Yale University to underground mags like Swindle and Re:UP, and put his heart and head into every one of them. And rather than slap some hand-drawn skulls on a page and call it a day, Mr. Correll has reasons and references behind each work, from Rube Goldberg to mid-century children’s books, from Sesame Street to the changing of the seasons.

Recent projects of Correll’s include his own hand-screened posters, which showed most recently at Cleveland’s Front Room Gallery, and t-shirts for Threadless. He’s also worked on quite a few projects with his Rad Mountain studio mates, including illos for Faesthetic and Good magazines. In between all this painstaking design, Correll is busy adding to his hamburger memorabilia collection and trying to get the studio cat to stop drinking out of his water glass. Make sure you check our XLR8R TV episode live from Damien’s studio, and also the rad poster he designed for the inside of our Vis-Ed special issue (featured in the his slideshow in the right-hand column of this page).
